“Impact of Rural Status on Lower Extremity Bypass Outcomes for Patients With Chronic Limb Threatening Ischemia” was published in Annals of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Grace M. Djapri and co-authors reviewed 2016 - 2022 BMC2 data to assess the impact of rural status on lower extremity bypass (LEB) outcomes for patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia.

Vascular surgery registry data on rural-urban commuting area codes and major adverse cardiovascular events, 30-day and 1-year mortality, hospital readmission, bypass revision, wound complications, amputations, and 30-day renal failure requiring dialysis were included.

The study determined that rural status does not impact lower extremity bypass outcomes.
