5/7/26 – PCI P4P Goal Setting Meeting
Below is a high-level recap of what we covered and what the group supported in polling. Please note that recommendations are reviewed & approved by Blue Cross in the coming months. The BMC2 Coordinating Center will then circulate approved measures.
Key Themes from the Discussion
Blue Cross has created a new VBR scorecard template that will allow for a tiered structure that also allows for partial credit
BMC2 CC suggests integrating partial credit on measures when sites have improved by a certain number of points.
2027 P4P
Continue combined IVUS/OCT for stent optimization in all cases, and left main, in-stent thrombosis and in-stent restenosis goal in 2027
Increase the target from 60% to 65% and adding option for sites that are less than 45% and have increased by 15%
Support keeping the LM, IST, ISR target at 75%
Support changing the cardiac rehab utilization measure to cardiac rehab liaison-mediated referral, and placing the goal at 80%
Continue the Composite Measure
Support keeping the Data Coordinator and Physician Champion expectations the same
2028 VBR
Support keeping the Peer Review goals the same
Increase the target for the Smoking Cessation goal to 50% for 2 or more interventions and the tiered approach for partial credit
Future measures discussed
Radiation Mitigation System
Shock – Lactic Acid or Lactate for all ACS patients
Thank you again for your engagement. Please share any additional thoughts to Dr. Cantey & Mollie Bodin so we can incorporate your feedback before final submission to BCBSM.
