We’re excited to introduce Heart-to-Heart, a new initiative from the Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network (MiCR) NewBeat team aimed at improving cardiac rehab (CR) utilization through the power of storytelling.
Information alone is not enough to close the CR participation gap. Even with automatic referrals or strong physician endorsements, many patients still stop short of enrolling. Why? For some, what’s missing isn’t more information, it’s a sense of connection. What they need is inspiration.
Heart-to-Heart is a new initiative designed to fill that gap. This project seeks to amplify the real, diverse voices of Michigan patients who have experienced CR and share their journeys through compelling audio, visual, and written storytelling.
Our goal is to foster broader conversations about the life-changing impact of cardiac rehabilitation, and to inspire those considering attendance.
Completed stories will be made available for shared use across hospitals and CR programs throughout the MiCR network.
We need your help to make this possible. If you know a CR patient or graduate who wants to share their story, or if your team is interested in learning more about MiCR hosting a story collection event at your site, we invite you to get involved. Patient participation in a brief one-on-one interview is voluntary. Participants will be compensated with a $25 gift card for their time.
