Coordinator and Abstractor Onboarding

The BMC2 Onboarding Process

Welcome to BMC2! Please read the information below for guidance on the PCI and Vascular Surgery onboarding process. The BMC2 Coordinator and Abstractor onboarding process is initiated by submitting a Contact Update Form to notify BMC2 there has been a change at your site.

The BMC2 PCI and Vascular Surgery training curriculums are delivered through self-paced, asynchronous learning modules created specifically for the PCI and Vascular Surgery consortiums to provide a thorough and consistent understanding of BMC2's quality improvement efforts and to ensure accurate data collection.

We are excited to welcome you to BMC2, and we thank you for your dedication to this important work.

Step-by-Step guide to Data Coordinator and Abstractor Onboarding

Onboarding Process

Step 1: Notify BMC2 of a New User

Use the Contact Update Form to let BMC2 know you're joining your site's QI team.

Step 2: Create User Accounts

To complete training using the BMC2 online learning platform, you will need to create a user account and a secure password.

The steps to complete this process will be automatically sent to you upon completing the contact update form. If you or someone from your site has not already completed that step, please submit a Contact Update Form to initiate the process.

Step 3: Complete Training

Once your usernames and secure passwords are processed, you will receive an email message with instructions on self-registering for BMC2's online training course for either PCI or Vascular Surgery. Each training course requires a passing score of ≥ 80%.

Once you pass the assessment, you will be prompted to complete a short background questionnaire. After completing the questionnaire, you will be granted access to the registry's database.

Step 4: You're ready to go!

Once you have access to the registry database, you may begin abstracting data.

Please review the Coordinator Resources webpage for abstraction resources including dictionaries and worksheets. If you have questions as you get started (and beyond!), please reach out to your Registry QI Nurse Lead(s) listed below.
