  • Hitinder S.Gurm, M.D.

    Dr. Hitinder S. Gurm is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System as well as Director, Inpatient Services for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director, Carotid Interventions in Cardiovascular Medicine. He is also the Project Director of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Cardiovascular Consortium Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Registry (BMC2-PCI). BMC2-PCI is a multi-center, quality improvement registry funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, designed to improve quality of care and outcomes for patients who undergo percutaneous coronary interventions in the state of Michigan. Hitinder is a graduate of Christian Medical College in India. He subsequently trained in the United Kingdom and was elected to the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. He joined the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1996 and did a residency in Internal medicine followed by a year as Chief Resident. He completed his fellowship in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the same institution. He joined the cardiology division of the University of Michigan in the summer of 2005. His clinical interests include cardio-vascular interventions with special interest in carotid and below knee interventions. His research interests include carotid interventions, pharmacotherapy of PCI, quality improvement and outcomes assessment focused on acute coronary syndromes and PCI, and development of novel devices for endovascular interventions. He has published more than 80 original articles and book chapters and has been named as an inventor on 4 patent applications. His outside interests include foreign films and walking in the woods with his children.

  • P. Michael Grossman, M.D.

    Dr. Paul Michael Grossman is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health System as well as Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Ann Arbor Veteran’s Administration Hospital. He is an interventional cardiologist, who performs both coronary and peripheral arterial interventions. Originally from Nebraska, Dr Grossman received his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California San Diego where he also served as chief resident. He completed general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Michigan.

    Dr. Grossman is the Project Director of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Peripheral Vascular Intervention Registry (BMC2-PVI), a multi-center, multi-disciplinary outcomes registry that represents a regional collaborative effort to assess and improve the quality of care and the outcomes of patients with peripheral vascular disease who undergo percutaneous peripheral arterial intervention. In addition, his research interests also include preclinical and clinical projects related to therapeutic angiogenesis for patients with severe coronary and peripheral arterial disease.

  • Mauro Moscucci, M.D., M.B.A.

    Dr. Mauro Moscucci is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and has been named Chief of the Cardiovascular Division. He was previously an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the University of Michigan Medical Center. After completing a 3-year fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Chicago, and a 2-year fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and Harvard Medical School, he joined the University of Michigan faculty in 1994. Dr. Moscucci’s research interest has focused on outcome assessment and quality improvement in interventional cardiology, and on complex coronary and cardiac interventions. He is the previous Project Director and now Consulting Co-Director of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Cardiovascular Consortium Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Registry (BMC2–PCI.). BMC2-PCI is a multi-center, quality improvement registry funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, designed to improve quality of care and outcomes for patients who undergo percutaneous coronary interventions. Dr. Moscucci also serves as Associate Editor for Interventional Cardiology in the American College of Cardiology’s Current Journal Review. He has published more than 80 original articles, abstracts, and book chapters.

  • Andrea G. Jensen, M.A., M.S.

    Ms. Andrea G. Jensen is the Clinical Research Project Manager for the BMC2-PCI/PVI. BMC2-PCI is a multi-center, quality improvement registry funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, designed to improve quality of care and outcomes for patients who undergo percutaneous coronary interventions. BMC2-PVI is a multi-center, multi-disciplinary outcomes registry that represents a regional collaborative effort to assess and improve the quality of care and the outcomes of patients with peripheral vascular disease who undergo percutaneous peripheral arterial intervention. She was previously the Site Head for Research Quality Assurance at the Ann Arbor Site for Pfizer Global Research and Development. Ms. Jensen has many years of management experience in health care and in public health. She has an MA in Analytic Philosophy and an MS in Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health from the University of Iowa.
